As a senior instructional designer with over 30 years of experience
in training and education, Deborah Munro brings a wealth of experience
to BrainWave Solutions Inc.
Her training expertise lies in developing competency-based learning
interventions, including course curricula, delivery strategies, assessment
instruments, and post-course performance support and evaluation strategies.
In support of these efforts, Deborah has developed comprehensive curriculum
materials for a wide range of learners, including learners with limited
reading skills.
Deborah has researched, designed, and developed leader-led, self-paced,
computer-based and web-based training solutions for numerous private-
and public-sector clients.
Her work has been consistently praised for its comprehensiveness,
clarity, and ease of understanding. Learners have been particularly
taken with her ability to create engaging narratives that breathe
life into otherwise dry subjects.
Her courses have also been praised for delivering results. Learners
who complete the courses are able to successfully perform their tasks
on the job.

Deborah's skill in performance analysis derives from her expertise
in conducting job, task, and training needs analyses and her experience
in systems analysis.
She has over thirty years experience in conducting workflow and job
and task analyses as the first stage of a performance solution project.
The analyses she conducts are open-ended, in that they aim to identify
the best solution to a performance problem, whether that solution
is training-related or not.
In recent years, she worked on systems analysis projects, in which
she determined the business rules for work processes and then developed
the required software design specifications and procedural guidelines
to support the workflow process.
Her work on creating systems models included designing application
screens, user procedures, data models and detailed business rules
for every command, screen element, data field, image window, and table/file
creation, modification and deletion process.
As part of her performance analysis work, Deborah has developed an
iterative and scaleable workflow analysis process that captures and
organizes all major aspects of an organizations work-related activities.
Deborah has a solid record of creating a variety of well-written
documents, including:
- reference and informational documents
- general interest articles
- market surveys
- promotional materials and advertising copy
- corporate vision statements
- project plans
- project and grant proposals
- academic papers
Deborah has written for audiences of all ages and reading levels,
including a distance learning course for Grade 9 science students
for the B.C. Ministry of Education.

Deborah has a long history of teaching and coaching success.
She taught undergraduate English as a graduate teaching fellow at
Carleton University and the University of New Mexico, where she was
asked to design and teach a section for students with visual and motor
disabilities.
She has conducted one-on-one coaching sessions on writing skills
and computer skills (including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint). Her
clients were particularly impressed with her ability to explain complex
procedures in simple language, her patience and encouragement, and
the extra effort she put into ensuring their goals were met.
